Description of the class: The American Red Cross Lifeguard training class includes Lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Automated External Defibrillator, and First Aid. Pr-requisites for the class are: swim 300 yards non-stop using Free Style and the Breast Stroke, Surface dive 8-10 feet to pick up a 10 pound brick and then swim with the brick using only your legs, and be able to tread water with no hands for one minute.


Lifeguard Instructor

Description of the Class: The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Course is to train Instructors to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses. These prerequisites must be met before the first day of the class:

  • You have to be 17 years old by the last day of the Instructor Course.
  • You have to possess a current base-level certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • You have to have successfully completed the online Introduction to the Lifeguarding Instructor Course. (You will get the link at registration.)
  • You have to print the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Manual.
